State License Requirements - Nevada
Cosmetology – 1,800 hours
The curriculum for students enrolled in the Cosmetology Program consists of technical instruction and practical training covering all practices of cosmetology including theory, blow dry, finger waves, skip waves, permanent waves, chemical straightening, shampoos, rinses, haircutting, hair coloring, scalp treatments, facials, eyebrow arching, make-up application, nail wraps and extensions, manicures, pedicures, thermal straightening, curl marcel, wet hair dressing, wigs and hair pieces, modeling, reception and desk training, salon management, and dispensing products. Also included are Nevada Laws and Regulations.
Hair Design – 1,200 hours
The curriculum for students enrolled in the Hair Design Program consists of technical instruction and practical training covering all practices of hair design including theory, blow dry, finger waves, skip waves, permanent waves, chemical straightening, shampoos, rinses, haircutting, hair coloring, scalp treatments, thermal straightening, curl marcel, wet hair dressing, wigs and hair pieces, modeling, reception and desk training, salon management, and dispensing products. Esthetics - 900 hours
The curriculum for students enrolled in the Esthetician Program consists of technical instruction and practical training covering all practices of skin care including theory, cosmetology chemistry (nail, hair and skin preparations), health and safety, hazardous substances, disinfection, sanitation, electricity, bacteriology, anatomy, physiology, manual facials, electrical facials, chemical facials, eyebrow arching, hair removal, make-up application, skin analysis, corrective make-up, lash tinting, brow tinting, application of false lashes, body hair lightening (except the scalp), product and ingredient knowledge, skin care treatments, and modeling. Also included are Nevada Laws and Regulations.
Nail Technology - 600 hours
The curriculum for students enrolled in the Nail Technology Program consists of technical instruction and practical training covering all practices of manicuring and pedicuring including nail technology, nail disease, nail disorders, skin structure, skin disease, skin disorders, anatomy, bacteriology, physiology, acrylic nails, nail wraps and extensions, nail enhancements, nail art, chemistry, pedicuring, health and safety, disinfection, sanitation, hazardous substances, modeling, professional image, and reception desk. Also included are Nevada Laws and Regulations.
