Giovanni Marinello

Giovanni Marinello was a prominent Physician and Gynecologist in 16th century Italy. He practiced in Venice and was a pioneer in medical research. He was a renaissance man, known for his multiple interests including developing diets and weight loss plans. In 1562, Marinello published a book entitled The Beautification of the Ladies where he described what is now known as the "Introduction to Cosmetology", the book included recipes on bleaching and coloring hair.
